Basic Coverage

Insurance and compensation included in rental car fees
In case of an accident, insurance will be paid within the following limits.

Bodily Injury Unlimited per person
Property Damage Unlimited per accident (self-pay (deductible) 70,000 yen)
Car Damage 1 accident limit: Up to vehicle market value (self-pay (deductible) 70,000 yen)
Passenger Compensation 5 million yen per person

Examples where the insurance/compensation system is not applicable

  • Failure to report the accident to the police (in the absence of an accident certificate).
  • Accidents caused by someone other than the person who reported at the time of departure.
  • Accidents caused by driving without a license.
  • Accidents caused by driving under the influence of alcohol.
  • Accidents that occur when the rental period is exceeded without permission.
  • Other violations of the rental agreement terms, such as leaving the keys inside the car resulting in theft.

*Accidents that fall under circumstances where insurance benefits cannot be paid according to the insurance policy, or in cases without a police accident report, may not be eligible for compensation.

Other customer responsibilities include

  • For spare tire replacement, please use the designated insurance company's roadside service or handle it yourself.
  • In the event of a flat tire on a vehicle without a spare tire, please request assistance from the insurance company's roadside service instead of using the on-board puncture repair kit. You will be transported to the nearest repair facility, free of charge within the conditions specified by the insurance company's roadside service.
  • If emergency repair using the on-board puncture repair kit is unavoidable, the cost will be the customer's responsibility.
  • Repair costs for damaged tires, the cost of new tires and labor if tire replacement is necessary, and the cost of lost wheel caps will be borne by the customer. If the wheel is damaged, a non-operation charge will apply.
  • When replacing with a new tire, please contact the departure store in advance. In principle, please replace with a tire equivalent to the damaged one.
