Insurance/compensation agreement
For the peace of mind of customers who use rental cars from Times Car RENTAL, sums of money within the following bounds will be covered.

Up to 30 million yen
Compensation will be paid for injuries to passengers (including residual disability) and death caused by an automobile accident, regardless of the degree of the driver's responsibility. The amount of damage will be calculated by the insurance company based on the terms of the insurance policy.
(For uninsured automobile accidents, personal injury protection covers up to 30 million yen.) |
- The compensation period is up to 180 days from the date of the accident.
- No compensation will be made if there is no traffic accident certificate from the police or if it falls under the disclaimer of the insurance policy.
- Cost of repairing punctured or blown-out tires will be charged to the customer.
Cases of exemptions from Payment
*In such cases, insurance and compensation will not be applied.
◇ When the damage exceeds the compensation limits specified in the above chart, when the accident was not reported to the police, or when exclusions stipulated in the insurance policy apply
(1) Cost of repairing punctured or blown-out tires
(2) Loss of hubcaps
(3) Intentional accident
◇ When it is clear that the driver was in violation of the Times CAR RENTAL Terms and Conditions
(1) Driving under the influence of alcohol
(2) Reckless driving
(3) Driving under the influence of drugs
(4) Unauthorized extension of the rental period
(5) Leaving the scene of an accident
(6) Vehicle driven by a person not authorized by Times CAR RENTAL
(7) Renting the vehicle to someone else, etc.
◇ When there is failure to exercise due diligence
(1) Damage to the vehicle’s internal accessories
(2) Theft when the vehicle was left unlocked
(3) Leaving the scene of an accident in a no-parking area
(4) Other anti-social behavior
(5) Refueling the vehicle with the wrong type of fuel
(6) Loss of keys, etc.
Accident contribution
You need to pay the following amount in case of an accident
- Damages exceeding the above compensation amount
- The property damage deductible (JPY 50,000)
- The vehicle insurance deductible (JPY 50,000 / JPY 100,000 for minibuses, regular cargo trucks, and special-use vehicles)
- Non-operation charge
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
- All plans in Tabirai Car Rental include Collision Damage Waiver.
If you pay Exemption Compensation Fee (which is not insurance), we will compensate the property damage deductible (JPY 50,000) and the vehicle insurance deductible (JPY 50,000 / JPY 100,000 for minibuses, regular cargo trucks, and special-use vehicles).

Non-operation charge
If a vehicle requires repair, the customer, who is attributed to the accident, may be charged for the followong amount as a portion of the compensation for the loss of use due to the repair, regardless of the degree of the vehicle damage and the repair period.
