Kansai International Airport opened in September 1994. This International airport is fully operational for 24 hours a day. The airport was built on the artificial island which was constructed approximately 5km off the coast of inside Osaka Bay. It is commonly called as [Kanku] and [Kansai Kuko]. This is the only airport in Kansai region which operates International flights. This airport has become the International base airport of Kansai. It is approximately 3 minute walk from Terminal 1 Building via the accessway on the 2F to Aero Plaza with the reception counters. Use the escalator on the left from the front entrance to go to 1F and it is right there. It is about 7 minutes from Terminal 2 building by the shuttle bus with no charge. It is available to depart (and return) from (to) the airport, and a rental car pick up is available at the parking lot near the counter.
