    A famous airport as a filming location

    Takamatsu Airport is an air gateway to Kagawa Prefecture and is located in Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture. Domestic flights to Tokyo and Naha and International flights to Seoul, Shanghai and Taipei are available. This airport is also known as the filming location for the movie "Crying Out Love In The Center Of The World" (Sekai No Chuusin De, Ai Wo Sakebu).

    It is recommended to rent a car at the airport when you visit Takamatsu City or Kagawa Prefecture. There is a car rental service counter next to the Information counter near the arrival lobby located on the 1st floor.

    The Takamatsu Chuo IC and the Takamatsu Nishi IC are the closest interchanges to Takamatsu Airport. Go from the Takamatsu Chuo IC when you go to the eastern region of Kagawa including Ritsurin Garden and Yashima. Go from the Takamatsu Nishi IC when you go to the western region of Kagawa including Shiundeyama park and the Fudo Waterfall. The central area of Takamatsu City is about 25 minutes from the airport via National Route 11 and 193.

    Takamatsu Station is an entrance to Takamatsu City. It is a hub station. The Yosan Line, the Kotoku Line, the Dosan Line and the Seto-Ohashi Line are available. This station is also known by the nickname "Sanuki Takamatsu Udon Eki".

    Although there are many commercial facilities around the station, it is ideal to use a rental car when you go to popular sightseeing spots. There is a car rental information desk in the Baggage storage office located to the right from the exit of the station. Additionally, there are several car rental service offices around Kotobuki-cho.

    Ritsurin Garden is one of the most famous historical gardens in Japan and you can enjoy a variety of flowers throughout the seasons. It is about 11 minutes from the station via Seto-Ohashi Dori → prefectural road 160. Yashima is a famous scenic spot in Takamatsu City and is about 25 minutes from the station via the Yashima Driveway (toll road).

    A port town along the Seto Inland Sea

    Takamatsu City is the capital of Kagawa Prefecture located in the central region of the prefecture. It is a port town facing the Seto Inland Sea. There are many tourist spots including Megijima which is famous for the Momotaro Densetsu (Legend of Momotaro), Yashima, Busshozan Onsen and the Isamu Noguchi Garden Museum. Takamatsu City is visited by many tourists from all over Japan.

    Since bicycle commuting is very common in Takamatsu City, road improvements are more advanced than railways. Therefore, if you rent a car at the Takamatsu Airport or near Takamatsu Station, you will be able to go sightseeing more efficiently.

    Ritsurin Garden is one of the most popular tourist spots in Takamatsu City. It is a Japan's representative garden and has been awarded three stars by the Michelin Green Guide. It is about 25 minutes from Takamatsu Airport along National Route 193 or 9 minutes from Takamatsu Station via Chuo-dori street.
