Mito Station is a hub station of Mito City in Ibaraki Prefecture. The Joban Line, the Suigun Line and the Oaraikashima Line are available. Since there are a lot of schools and companies, the Mito Station is used by many students and adults.
You will be able to travel efficiently if you use a rental car when you go to various tourist attractions from Mito Station. There is a car rental service office located across the Hotel Mets near the north exit of the station.
Kairaku-en (park) is a famous tourist attraction in Mito City and is one of the Three Great Gardens of Japan. The Kairaku-en (park) is about 7 minutes from Mito Station by car to the west along prefectural road 50. You can enjoy cycling and boating around Lake Senba which is a representative lake of Mito. It is located next to the Kairaku-en (park). In addition, the Tokugawa Museum which is related to the Tokugawa Family, is in the Kairaku-en (park) area.
