    The largest terminal station in the northern Kanto Region

    Takasaki Station is the largest hub station in the northern Kanto region and is located in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture. Nine railways including Shinkansen and conventional lines are available. This station provides easy access to neighboring prefectures including to Gunma City and is used by many tourists and businessmen.

    Although there are plenty of railways available, a rental car is convenient if you are planning to go to tourist attractions in Takasaki City such as Mount Haruna and the Minowa Castle. You can rent a car at various locations around Takasaki Station. There is a car rental service office in front of the East Exit of Shinkansen ticket gate and there are several more along the Odori (street) in front of the station.

    Mount Haruna is a very popular tourist attraction in Takasaki City and is about an hour and 10 minutes to the north along prefectural road 126 from Takasaki Station. It is ideal to drive along prefectural road 29 → prefectural road 211 if you are going to Mount Haruna from the Haruna Shrine.

    Ota Station is a major station representing Ota City, Gunma Prefecture. The Tobu Isesaki Line, the Tobu Kiryu Line and the Tobu Koizumi Line are available. Ota Station is a starting station for the Tobu Kiryu Line and the Tobu Koizumi Line.

    Kanayama mountain is the symbol of Ota City. It is inconvenient to travel without a car to Kanayama mountain. You can rent a car at several locations around Ota Station. There is a car rental service office located near the rotary from the south exit and there are more along the Odori (street) straight from the north exit of the station.

    The Kinryu-ji Temple, the Kanayama Castle Remains and the Kanayama Shizen Park are about 10 minutes drive along Koga Kaido road → prefectural road 321 from Ota station. How about stopping by at the Yabuzuka Onsen also known as the Private Hot Spring of Yoshisada Nitta after sightseeing around the Kanayama mountain area? You can arrive at the Yabuzuka Onsen in about 25 minutes by car along prefectural road 332.

    Maebashi Station is a representative station of Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture and is a small station. The Ryomo Line is available. Since this station is located some distance from the central part of the city, it is recommended to rent a car when you go sightseeing. There are car rental service offices near Maebashi station including the one located on the right side from the south exit of the Station. You may book a rental car in advance.

    A popular drive from Maebashi Station is to tour around the historical places. Starting from Maebashi Station, drive along prefectural road 11 to visit the Ryukaiin Temple → drive along the Tone River north to visit the Green Dome Maebashi → drive along prefectural road 105 north about 8 minutes to arrive at the Hotozan Kofun (tumulus). In addition to this route, you can enjoy taking a walk and explore the Koganji Temple which is located near the Hotozan kofun (tumulus).
