    The airport of the entrance to Aomori Prefecture

    Aomori Airport is the entrance to Aomori Prefecture. This airport is about 35 minutes by bus between Aomori Station and Aomori Airport. The round trip flights to Haneda Airport, New Chitose Airport, Itami Airport, Komaki Airport and Incheon International Airport are available at Aomori Airport.

    Since there are no trains or Shinkansen (bullet trains) around Aomori Airport, rental cars are convenient for sightseeing in cities such as Aomori or Hirosaki. There is a new terminal for car rentals next to the passenger terminal. It will be a good idea to ask for a rental car at this location.

    The Aomori Museum of Art and the Sannai-Maruyama site are about 20 minutes by car from Aomori Airport. The Asamushi Onsen and the Sukayu Onsen are about 40 to 45 minutes drive from the airport. You can go downtown in Aomori City without getting lost by car. It is straight to the north on prefectural route 27.

    The connecting-station between Aomori and Hokkaido

    Aomori Station is a hub station of Aomori Prefecture's railways. JR lines and the Aoimori Railway Line are available at this station with connections to Hokkaido. Not only tourists but also businessmen use Aomori Station because the Aomori Port is located nearby and there are plenty of hotels and restaurants around the station.

    If you are planning to go sightseeing through the suburbs of Aomori City from the Aomori Station, it will be a good idea to rent a car at the Aomori Station area. There are car rental service offices about 2 minutes walking distance from the main entrance of Aomori Station.

    If Aomori Station is the starting point of your sightseeing, one of the recommended drive courses is to go north along the Aomori Port and then go around the Tsugaru Peninsula. First, you can enjoy downtown Aomori City thoroughly and then go straight to the north on National Route 280 from the Sannai-Maruyama site and go through Tairadate and the Yoshitsune-tera (temple) and then arrive at the Tappizaki cape by this course.

    The Hachinohe Line, the Tohoku Shinkansen (bullet train) and the Aoimori Railway Line are available at Hachinohe Station. Although this station is a little distant from central part of Hachinohe City, it became the hub station of Hachinohe City because there are plenty of railways and buses.

    A rental car will be very convenient if you are planning to go sightseeing in Hachinohe City from Hachinohe Station. There are several car rental service offices around this station. Some are located right across the roundabout in front of the east exit of Hachinohe Station. There is a JR rental car service office on the west exit side.

    If you start your sightseeing by rental car from Hachinohe Station, a recommended course is to go along National Route 454 and stop by at the Kabu-jima and the Ashigezaki Observatory and then explore Tanesashi Coast. Views from the coast line are great and also you can enjoy fresh seafood.
